1934 David Brown and Sons (Huddersfield) Ltd bought a 27 acre site at Penistone for a new foundry; the site had been previously occupied by English Steel Corporation and before that by Cammell, Laird and Co[1]
1935 David Brown Foundries began making high grade steel, and steel castings.
1944 Advertised their understanding of the science of metal casting[2]
1952 Steel and Bronze castings
1954 A third of the alloy steel produced was used for making components for the oil industry[3]
By 1962 was the foundries division of David Brown Industries[4]
1988/9 Acquired by Hi-Tec Integrity Castings, part of William Cook[5]
