1900 April 15th. Born at Halifax the son of Henry Rawnsley Dawtrey and his wife Sarah Emma Sladdin.

1926 Married at Atcham, Shropshire, to Ella M. Grosvenor

Lewis Dawtrey and Harry Webster led the design team for the Triumph slant-four engine
