1961 Obituary[1]
"WE record with regret the death of Commander J. R. Patterson, O.B.E., D.S.C., R.N. (retired), which occurred suddenly on January 9. Commander Patterson, who joined The Parsons and Marine Engineering Turbine Research and Development Association in 1952, upon the completion of thirty-six years' service in the Royal Navy, was the technical secretary of the Association and as such was secretary to all the technical committees and well known to members of marine engineering firms in this country."
