1909 Obituary [1]

DOUGLAS LEWIS KNEVETT WELLS, whose death occurred at Brussels on November 20, 1908, was the eldest son of the late Mr. Lewis Wells, traffic accountant of the Eastern Telegraph Company.

He was for ten years in the service of the Associated Telegraph Companies, and did considerable work both in laying and repairing cables for colonial and foreign Governments.

Afterwards he went into practice as a consulting electrical engineer, and in this capacity he acted for several foreign Governments.

He finally settled at Brussels, holding the agency for a number of English firms.

He was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1888, and was transferred to Membership in 1891.
