We have learned with regret that Mr. E. W. Golding, assistant director of the [[Electrical Research Association]], died on June 2 after a short illness. | |||
Born in Northwich, Cheshire in 1902, E. W. Golding was educated at the Manchester College of Technology and then worked for two years in the research department of [[Metropolitan-Vickers|Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Company Ltd.]]. From 1926 and 1945 he was a lecturer in electrical engineering in Nottingham University. For most of the twenty years that Mr. Golding was with the E.R.A. he was in charge of the Wind Power and Rural Electrification Department but in recent years he was Overseas Liaison Officer and Head of Member Relations Department. A prolific writer, he was author of the classic text-book, ''Electric Measurements and Measuring Instruments'' and ''The Generation of Electricity by Wind Power''. | |||

We have learned with regret that Mr. E. W. Golding, assistant director of the Electrical Research Association, died on June 2 after a short illness.
Born in Northwich, Cheshire in 1902, E. W. Golding was educated at the Manchester College of Technology and then worked for two years in the research department of Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Company Ltd..
