Charles William Jackson, who died on the 28th January, 1951, was born on the 9th August, 1883. He received his early education at Manchester Grammar School, his engineering education at Manchester School of Technology, and his practical training with [[Browett, Lindley and Co]]., Patricroft. In 1904 he spent a short period as a junior shift engineer at Dewsbury electricity works, and the following year he returned to Browett Lindley's as Chief Assistant in the Testing Department. In 1906 he joined the staff of the King's Lynn Corporation Electricity Department as first assistant on the evening shift, a year later he was promoted to Chief Assistant, and in 1911 he was appointed Borough Electrical Engineer and Manager. When the industry was nationalized, in 1948, he became Senior Executive Officer for the Eastern Electricity Board in respect of the King's Lynn undertaking. He retired on the 31st January, 1949. He is survived by his widow and two daughters.
