WILLIAM RICHARD MAY was born on the 12th July, 1869, and died in the summer of 1945. He received his early education at Maidstone Grammar School, and served an apprenticeship with the Kentish Engineering Works, Maidstone. After sailing as a marine engineer for nine years, in 1899 he went to the Stockport Corporation Electricity Works as a charge engineer. In 1903 he was appointed Chief Assistant Engineer to the Lowestoft Corporation, and, ten years later, Borough Electrical and Tramways Engineer. He retired in 1936. | |||

WILLIAM RICHARD MAY was born on the 12th July, 1869, and died in the summer of 1945. He received his early education at Maidstone Grammar School, and served an apprenticeship with the Kentish Engineering Works, Maidstone. After sailing as a marine engineer for nine years, in 1899 he went to the Stockport Corporation Electricity Works as a charge engineer. In 1903 he was appointed Chief Assistant Engineer to the Lowestoft Corporation, and, ten years later, Borough Electrical and Tramways Engineer. He retired in 1936.
