1954 September. Birlec bought by AEI.[1]
1956 Commenced building a new factory at Aldridge, Staffs.[2]
1958 Agreement with Efco to form a joint venture Birlec-Efco (Melting) to design and manufacture electric furnaces for the ferrous and non-ferrous industries, and smelting furnaces and induction heating equipment[3]
1968 Electroslag refining plant supplied to Samuel Osborn and Co [4]
