Ernest Rufus Estcourt (1842-1911), early automobile pioneer

1904 'ESCOURT, Ernest, The Avenue, Wroxham, Norfolk. Cars: Several Brookes, also owns a 12-h.p. 3-cylinder Brooke petrol launch, and a 12-h.p. houseboat. Was the owner of the first petrol launch used in England. Is a director of the Brooke Motor Co., Lowestoft. Is the inventor of a cooling system used on the Daimler and Brooke cars. Is the oldest motorist in England.'[2]
