ALFRED SANDERS died suddenly on July 2, 1930, at the age of seventy-six.
He was connected with the refining of precious metals all his life, and received his training with the Sheffield Smelting Company, at Sheffield. He was appointed Manager of their Birmingham branch when still in his early twenties.
In 1881 he joined the late Josiah Lees in the firm of Lees and Sanders, Birmingham, and by his energy and attractive personality built up the present business of sweep smelting and refining of precious metals.
