ALEXANDER ALEXANDER, a former member of Dundee Town Council, died on October 24, 1926, at his residence, Carphin, Broughty Ferry, after a brief illness.
Mr. Alexander was well known in business circles in Dundee, being the senior partner of David Boswell, Ltd., Tay Brass Works, Dock Street, in which business he was interested for the past 25 years.
He was a native of Rescobie, near Forfar, and served his apprenticeship with Messrs. J. and D. Craig.
Coming to Dundee, he became connected with Gourlay's Shipyard, and was also for a time in Lilybank Foundry.
He was well known in engineering circles, being a prominent member of the Engineering Employers' Federation. An enthusiastic sportsman, Mr. Alexander was an ex-president of Maryfield Curling Club, and a prominent member of Broughty Bowling Club and Dalhousie Golf Club.
He was elected a Member of the Institute of Metals on December 29, 1924.
