ROBERT ANGUS died at Ladykirk, Monkton, Ayrshire, on April 14, 1923, aged eighty-seven.
He had been associated with William Baird & Co., Ltd., ironmasters, for sixty-four years.
Born at New Monkland, he received his professional training as a civil engineer in Glasgow, before he entered their service at Gartsherrie and Kilsyth. After a few months he was appointed general manager of the Blair Ironworks of Ayrshire.
In 1860 he took over the management of the Lugar and Muirkirk Works, and later of the Spanish interests of the firm.
