EDWARD THOMAS JOHN died at his home in Kent on February 18, 1931; he was sixty years of age.


He was born at Pontypridd in 1857; in 1871 he went to Middlesbrough and commenced in a lowly position with [[Bolckow, Vaughan and Co|Bolckow, Vaughan & Co., Ltd.]], but he rose to the post of first manager.
Later, he was appointed managing director of the [[Linthorpe-Dinsdale Smelting Co|Linthorpe Dinsdale Smelting Co., Ltd.]], and of the [[Asperiana Mines|Asperiana Mines, Ltd.]]; he also became chairman of the Indian Manganese Co., Ltd.
He joined the Iron and Steel Institute in 1897.

EDWARD THOMAS JOHN died at his home in Kent on February 18, 1931; he was sixty years of age.

He was born at Pontypridd in 1857; in 1871 he went to Middlesbrough and commenced in a lowly position with Bolckow, Vaughan & Co., Ltd., but he rose to the post of first manager.

Later, he was appointed managing director of the Linthorpe Dinsdale Smelting Co., Ltd., and of the Asperiana Mines, Ltd.; he also became chairman of the Indian Manganese Co., Ltd.

He joined the Iron and Steel Institute in 1897.
