Monks & Co.]], iron and steel manufacturers, which later became [[Monks, Hall and Co|Monks, Hall & Co., Ltd.]]; he entered the works in 1874, and became managing director of the company. He organised departments for tubes, bedsteads, mattresses, &c., and was concerned with the introduction of the use of Mond gas by the industry.

FREDERICK W. MONKS died early in 1932 at Bordighera, Italy.

His father was the founder of the firm F. Monks & Co., iron and steel manufacturers, which later became Monks, Hall & Co., Ltd.; he entered the works in 1874, and became managing director of the company. He organised departments for tubes, bedsteads, mattresses, &c., and was concerned with the introduction of the use of Mond gas by the industry.

He joined the Iron and Steel Institute in 1896.
