Dr. Willis Eugenes Everette, ethnologist, lawyer, and inventer, died on February 9, 1938.
He was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and studied natural sciences, medicine, and law, being admitted to the bar of the United States Supreme Court in 1894, where he specialized in mining and technical branches of the law.
Dr. Everette was the holder of a number of patents, among them one for producing steel direct from iron ore, and another for the extraction of nitrates and cyanides from the air.
Dr. Everette belonged to numerous learned and scientific societies, and became a member of the Institute of Metals on April 13, 1927.
