Held a position of responsibility at the Soho Ironworks, Bolton, then belonging to Benjamin Hick and Son.
1839 John Musgrave founded Globe Ironworks,
1841 Iron founder, living in Bolton, with Hannah Musgrave 55, Martha Musgrove 30, Elizabeth 20, John 20, Hannah 15, James 14[1]
From his efforts, and his ingenuity and ability, he built the firm gradually until, by the end of the century, its works covered ground extending from Kay Street into Waterloo Street, one of the largest engineering and millwright establishments in the country.
Later assisted by his sons Joseph, Jonathan, John, and James Musgrave.
1864 Died in Bolton; 3 of sons (Jonathan, John and James) were executors; all were shown as ironfounders[2]
