- 1849 Founded by Thomas Comstive (1829-86)[1]
- 1854 Thomas Comstive of Burnley, shuttle maker. Patent: improvements in the shuttles for weaving[2]

- 1909 Became a limited company, with Thomas Comstive's four sons, Thomas, William, Louis and Arthur appointed as its directors. New premises on Caldervale Road[11]
- 1929 Moved to Bristol Mill, Caldervale Road.[12]
- 1949 Managing Director: Walter Comstive, son of William Comstive and grandson of Thomas Comstive I.[13]
- 1955 Company liquidated, 23 May [14]
