British shuttle maker and co-owner of Thomas Comstive of Burnley
- 1821 Born in Burnley on the 19th of April, son of William and Alice Cumstive.
- 1841 Lived at Old Mill, Whalley with wife Mary and son. Occupation: Block Cutter.[1]
- 1860 NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Thomas Comstive, William Comstive, and Joseph Comstive, as Manufacturers of Shuttles and Picking Sticks in Marsden's Foundry, Burnley, in the county of Lancaster, under the style of Thomas Comstive and Bros., has this day been dissolved by mutual consent; and that all debts due to and owing by the late co-partnership will be received and paid by the said Thomas Comstive. As witness our hands this 15th day of November, 1860.[2]
- 1861 Lived at 27 Anne Street, Burnley with wife Sarah, five daughters and three sons. Occupation: Shuttle Maker employing 2 men and 3 boys.[3]
- 1867 Declared bankrupt on the 2nd of October. Shuttle Making business in Calder Vale.[4]
