1904 News atem. 'Recently tho directors of the Mountain Colliery, Limited, Gorseinon, South Woles, put in motion a powerful new winding machine. The engine has 36in. cylinders, 6ft. stroke, and 18ft. drum. It is intended to sink 300 yards to reach the four-feet coal beneath Longhor vein. The engines were made and erected Messrs. Joseph Barraclough and Sons, of Barnsley.'
