The Duke - made at the Shildon Works in 1854.
It had two outside cylinders, each 18in. diameter, and an 18in. stroke. The boiler was 14ft. in length, and 4ft. diameter.
It was made of 3/8 in. Low Moor. iron plate, and contained 158 Low Moor iron tubes, each 2in. dianmeter.
It had a copper fire-box, 5ft. 8in. high by 3ft. 6in. by 4ft. It had six 3ft. 6in. coupled wheels, four eccentrics, link motion, two pumps, and worked at a boiler pressure of 120 lb. The tender was similar to that of the Priam. [1]
