1810 Advertisement. 'JAMES COULTAS, Thrashing-machine Maker, from Hull, begs leave to inform gentlemen, farmers, and the public in general, that he makes from two to six-horse-power Machines, on the most moderate terms, to dress and shake off their straw in the best manner. J. C. has permission to insert the name of Mr. J. Pridon, of Garthorpe, near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, whom he has had the happiness of serving in the line of his profession. Mill-stones, straw-cutters, &c. be fixed at small expense.— For particulars enquire at Mr.Rippin's, Black Swan Inn, Stamford; or of J. C. as above. September 2Sfh, 1810.'[2]
