Joseph Lindsay was chief engineer at [[Gilroy Brothers]], Tay Works while those mills were being built. When they were nearly finished, he set up on his own in 1865 on land provided by his partner [[William Urquhart]], whose family had previously used the land as a seed nursery. | |||

Joseph Lindsay was chief engineer at Gilroy Brothers, Tay Works while those mills were being built. When they were nearly finished, he set up on his own in 1865 on land provided by his partner William Urquhart, whose family had previously used the land as a seed nursery.
