'...the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Joseph Wheeler Cross, James Wheeler Cross, Thomas Damby Cross, and William Wheeler Cross, in the trade or business of Breech Loading Action Makers, at Price-street, Birmingham, in the county of Warwick, trading under the style or firm of Cross Brothers, was dissolved by mutual consent, as and from the 20th day of August instant, so far only as regards the said Joseph Wheeler Cross. All debts due to and owing by the said firm will be respectively received and paid by the said James Wheeler Cross, Thomas Damby Cross, and William Wheeler Cross, by whom the said business will in future be carried on...'[1]
