Charles Whitwell, c.1568-1611
English engraver and scientific instrument maker, active between 1591 and 1606. Built many instruments invented by Robert Dudley, some of which were taken to Italy by Dudley, and were bequeathed to Ferdinand II de' Medici. Five of these are now in the possession of the Museo Galileo (Florence).[1]
