The British Aircraft Co was founded in 1928 to build gliders
1932 The founder C. H. Lowe Wylde fitted a Douglas 600cc engine to the BAC VII Tandam to produce the Planette.
Two more were built but on 13th May 1933 Lowe Wylde was killed while demonstrating it.
1933 Constructors of light aircraft, gliders and sailplanes. Head Office and Works: Lower Stone Street, Maidstone, Kent.[1]
1934 Business taken over by Robert Kronfield
1935 Moved operations from Maidstone to Hanworth. It was renamed British Aircraft Company (1935) Ltd
