1900 Engineer-in-chief to the Department of Roads and Bridges under the French Government together with being president of the Technical Commission which conducted heavy motor trials at the International Exhibition and the Commission of Organisation for various trials arranged by the Automobile Club of France.

He was also president of the International Congress on Automobilism held in Paris in July 1899.
