Arthur Cox was born in 1875. He was interested in motoring from its earliest days and made a special study of carburation. He founded the firm of Cox Carburettors, Ltd., in 1918, and invented and produced his own carburettors, which became very well known.
In 1936 he formed the firm of Cox Atmos Products, Ltd., which produced the economiser which was his invention.
He died on 3rd November, 1940, at the age of 65.
He was elected a Member in 1939.
