Educated at Haberdasher Aske's School, Birkbeck College and Goldsmiths College
1894 Started in the general office of T. and J. Hosking, his father's works, and then moved onto other departments concerned with engine construction and installation
1901 Marine engineer, P&O service
1905 Sudan government - engineer in chief on gunboats, dockyard and passenger services
1913-26 Started a general engineering works in London - director and works manager - Hosking Brothers Ltd of Southwark; also was a motor works.
1927 Engineer salesman for Filtrators Ltd of Astor House, Aldwych
1927 Associate member of I Mech E
