1910 October 3rd. 'The Burton aviation meeting was brought to a close on Saturday, the principal event being M. de Lesseps' flight from Nottingham to Burton, which he successfully accomplished. He said, however, it was the hardest task in the air he had ever undertaken owing to the wind, and once, when he dropped 300 feet from a great altitude, he thought was all over with him. An official statement, was made to the effect, that the meeting had been success, both as to flying and financially and that the takings had greatly exceeded expectations, and that a surplus would remain. There were further exhibition, flights in the evening. '
