1878 The original company was established as an agency of a Moscow firm.
1883 The London business was taken over by Ernest G. von Glehn and carried on as an independent concern under the style of Ragosine and Co.
1898 Robert R. S. Tanner joined the firm.
1899 The company was registered as a private limited company.
1907 Ernest von Glehn retired.
1908 The company purchased the business of Dixon and Heydorn, manufacturers of paints and varnishes, and incorporated it as a separate manufacturing department.
1914 Manufacturers of lubricating oils, paints and varnishes; merchants, contractors, importers and exporters. Specialities: "Dixon's White", "Royoak" paints and varnishes, "Dryoline", a liquid drier; polishes etc.; concentrated size and glues; "Ragosine Oil" in various grades; "Ragosoil" motor car lubricants.
