1855 Patent. 'To Charles William Tupper, of the firm of Messrs. Tupper and Carr, of 3, Mansion House-place, in the city o£ London, Galvanized Iron Manufacturer, for the invention of "improvements in the construction and arrangement of coverings for buildings."'[1]
1855 With Kuper and Co manufactured the Mediterranean telegraph cable, which was laid under the supervision of John W. Brett), with his brother one of the originators of submarine telegraph[2].
