1909 November 03rd. 'The proceedings at Brooklands Aviation Meeting on Friday were a great success. Paulhan, who is giving displays, made several excellent flights, both for altitude and speed. He went up over 200 feet. He also covered the distance of the course (2.58 miles) is 4min. 10sec at a rate of 37.2 miles per hour, establishing an English record. Farman's record at Blackpool being under 31. Paulhan took up Madame Paulan as passenger and afterwards, another lady, Mrs Locke King.'[1]
