1843 Born at Maesteg son of Jacob Chivers

1865 Left the Partnership with Jacob Chivers, carrying on the business of Ironfounders at Aberdare, in the county of Glamorgan. All debts received by Thomas Chivers.[1]

1901 'On Tuesday morning Mr. Thomas Chivers, J.P., Plasnewydd, Burry Port, passed away at the age of 58. The deceased gentleman was the son of the late Mr. Jacob Chivers, J.P., formerly of Velindre, Kidwelly, and Cirencester.'[2] The above information is condensed from an excellent online account, 'Kidwelly Tin Works 1737 to 1914' by W. H. MORRIS[3]
