Charles Walter Murray (1857- )

1922 M.I.Mar.E., M.I.N.A., M.Inst.Met., Supt. Engr. and Manager, Mar. Dept., Babcock and Wilcox, Ltd.; b. 1857; s. of George Frederick Murray. Ed. Southampton. App. Day, Summers and Co., Engrs. and Shipbuilders, Southampton; afterwards remained with firm 5 years; 1884-93, with P. and O Steam Navigation Co. as Sea-going Engr.; Engr.-in-charge of Hog Island Hydraulic Lift Dock, Bombay, and Res. Inspecting Engr. at the building of the S.S. " Malacca " and " Formosa," Barrow-in-Furness; then practised as Cons. Engr. and Naval Arch. in Southampton until 1900. Private Address: Day Dawn, Kenley, Surrey; Business: Oriel House, Farringdon Street, E.C.
