Elkanah Healey

c.1816 Born in Liverpool, son of Samuel Healey, an accountant.[1]

1841 A cashier of the Bank of Liverpool, when he married Mary Bennion in Liverpool[2] but the 1841 census appears to show him as a coachman.

1851 Elkanah Healey 35, master carriage builder, lived in Hale, Prescot with Mary Healey 35, Emma Laurea Healey 9, George Ferdrick Healey 7, Florance Healey 5, Randolph Eddoin Healey 3, Alfred Elkanah Healey 1[3]

1861 Elkanah Healey 45, master carriage builder, employing 28 men and 7 boys, lived in Little Woolton with Mary Healey 45, Emma L Healey 19, George F Healey 17, Randolph E Healey 13, Alfred E Healey 11[4]


His son Samuel was a pioneer in the development of the cuprammonium process of proofing and in 1873 he established an experimental factory at Willesden, North London,. which became Willesden Paper and Canvas Works
