Thomas Glover (1808-1868)
1808 April 10th. Born in Edinburgh the son of James Glover and his wife Ann Houeson.[1]
1843 Claimed to have invented the diaphragm gas meter. However, Glover in fact introduced improvements to the dry (diaphragm) meter of William Richards (1816-1893).
1844 Established his own business which became Thomas Glover and Co
1861 Gas meter maker, living in Clerkenwell, with Agnes 39, James 14, Agnes E 13, Alexander H 11, Richard 10, John G 8, Hugh C 7, Thomas B 5, Ann H 2[2]
1868 Died in Sevenoaks[3]
