Partly on the advice of Matthew Boulton, he bought a share in the firm of Mynors/Minors and Robert Purden, merchants in Birmingham. The firm was later known as Muntz and Purden.

Established a metalworks in Water Street, Birmingham

1793 Married Catherine Purden[1]

1794 Birth of son George Frederick Muntz

1811 Birth of their second son Philip Henry Muntz

1811 He died on 31 July 1811 [2]. He was buried in Kings Norton[3]

The Water Street business was presumably later G. F. and P. H. Muntz and then P. H. Muntz and Co
