Edward Green (Manchester)
1824 A sale of cotton machinery, tools, etc, by order of the trustees of Thomas Marriott at New Bridge Mills, Water Street, Manchester, included '.... several excellent lathes, one clock-maker's engine, by E. Green.[1]. It is not clear whether Green made the lathes or just the clockmaker's engine (presumably a gear cutting machine).
1825 Listed as a lathe and tool maker at Phoenix Foundry, Swan Street, Manchester. Home address: 5 Chadderton Street[2]. Note: Phoenix Foundry was previously occcupied by Peel, Williams and Co.
