Thomas Chalmers (1816-1903)
1816 Born in Dronley, Scotland, the son of a linen weaver.
1840 Married Janet Telfer.
1843 Emigrated to USA, initially settling in Lockport.
1844 Moved to Chicago.
1855 Joined in partnership with P. W. Gates, E. S. Warner, A. G. Warner and David R. Fraser, as Gates, Warner, Chalmers and Fraser.
President of Fraser and Chalmers until his returement in 1895.
1903 Died in Chicago aged 88.
1839 Thomas Chalmers at Chase Cottage, Hampstead Road, studying to be a civil engineer, became a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.[1] Same Thomas Chlamers?
