John Newton Frears CBE (1906-1981) of Frears and Blacks

1906 Born the son of John Russell Frears, Junior

Educated at Trinity College, Cambridge

Joined the family business

1937 Became chairman of Frears and Blacks

WWII Director bakeries for the UK under the Ministry of Food

1954 Chairman and managing director of Frears and Blacks when he was knughted[1]

1962 Became Pro-Chancellor Leicester University

1964 Director of Nabisco-Frears Biscuits Ltd

1981 Died
