François and Alexandre La Rochefoucauld
As young men, they spent time in England with their tutor, Maximilien de Lazowski, and recorded their observations, including accounts of agricultural practices and industrial production methods. These findings have been made available in English by Norman Scarfe.[1] [2]
François XIII, duke of La Rochefoucauld (b.8 September 1765, Paris - 3 September 1848) was the heir and eldest son of François Alexandre Frédéric, duc de la Rochefoucauld-Liancourt. On 24 September 1793 he married Marie-Françoise de Tott (1770–1854) at The Hague.<ref>[2] Wikipedia]
