1876 Institute founded as the Sanitary Institute of Great Britain

1904 Name changed to Royal Sanitary Institute

1926 Jubilee Congress held in London; Mr Chamberlain was the President

1955 The institute held a luncheon in London at which the guest of honour was the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries; Mr J. C. Morris was chairman of the council of the institute[1]

1955 Name changed to the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health.

2008 Merger of the Royal Society of Health (RSH) and the Royal Institute of Public Health (RIPH) to form the Royal Society of Public Health.
