1933 Two Ford vans, converted by the company to run on producer gas made on board from wood charcoal, left London for a demonstration tour of the Far East; the chairman of the company, Mr Bosworth Goldman, was in charge of the trip. The fuel costs were estimated to be at least 75 percent less than use of petrol.[1]
