1842 Advert: 'STEAM ENGINE FOR SALE. To be SOLD, by PRIVATE BARGAIN, A SIX-HORSE HIGH PRESSURE STEAM ENGINE, made by Mr. George Seed, Dunbar. The engine is at present laying in Barn at MILLGATE, in Kirkmichael Parish, within Two miles of Parkgate Inn, on the Edinburgh Road. Apply to David Hepburn, Hoddam, by Ecclefechan.'[1]
