City Vehicle Engineering were based in Darlington.

  • They designed a minibus which used front-wheel drive.
  • This design was re-made for the UK market with a diesel engine from a Land Rover.
  • 1990 CVE went out of business however. Their Omni design was passed on to Omnicoach who set up in 1991.
  • The engine was changed to a Mazda turbocharged diesel engine. A longer three-axle version was developed.
