The death at Aberdeen last week of Mr. John Fyfe,- who was the leading granite merchant in the kingdom - naturally brings to mind the famous quarries of Kemnay opened by him as far back as 1858, from which granite bas been supplied for nearly every important engineering structure in Britain.
