Allen Arthur Knapman ( -1920) of Knapman and Co (of Exeter)
Born the son of Arthur Knapman
1920 Died. 'The death occurred the day before yesterday of Mr. Allen Arthur Knapman, elder son of Mr. Arthur Knapman, of Hill Barton, Whipton, who passed away after a illness from contracted while on holiday at Weston-super-Mare. The deceased was educated at Exeter School and took his first medical examination at the Royal Albert Memorial College. During the war he joined the Inns of Court Corps and passed in to the 8th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. He was drafter to India and while attached to the 2nd King's Liverpool Regiment, took part in the Indian Frontier campaign. At the conclusion of the war he joined his father in the old-established drapery business of Knapman and Co in the High Street.'[1]
