1873 Walter Williams of the Wednesbury Oak Ironworks of Tipton produced the ironwork for the Buffalo River Bridge, King William’s Town, Cape Colony. It was a single lane, wagon bridge with two spans of 90 ft. It was designed by the London Consulting Engineer, Henry Wakefield.
