1859 Advertisement: 'TO BE SOLD, by Private Treaty, the MILLS and PREMISES late in the occupation of Mr. Shawcross, situated in East street, Lower Mosley-street, Manchester. There are three mills, 126 feet by 36 feet, 120 feet by 51 feet, and 98 feet by 34 feet, with the requisite outbuildings and premises, and are supplied with power by 95 and 36-horse condensing steam engines and three boilers, and fitted with gearing, shafting, steam pipes, &c. The land is bounded on two sides by the Manchester and Salford Junction Canal, and contains 4,985 square yards, subject to a chief or ground rent of 9d. per yard — For further particulars, and to treat, apply to J.
