See Addyman's Clutch
The 1881 census identifies Charles Henry Addyman, Agent, age 28, living with his family at Harehills House, Leeds.
See here[1] for a detailed timeline for Addyman's life. He was born in Leeds in 1852, and died in Steyning in 1911. He was still living in Leeds in 1872, when he became a Lieutenant in the 1st West Yorkshire Artillery Volunteers. The next entry has him living in Leeds in 1881. Presumably he was living in New York in 1876, when the clutch patent was granted in the UK.
